THE SONGS
8
The 20 songs competing here in Geneva are the best of the best, they are all the winning songs of the past 20 editions of WorldVision and their artists span all corners of the globe and many different genres of music from rock to pop and beyond. Six of them are well known around the world, and others people might be getting to know for the very first time.
One of these songs will be chosen by public vote as the best song of the first 20 editions of WorldVision.
Among the participants is Sweden's Timoteij, who won the very first WorldVision competition in Rio and also competed in Helsinki in WV19. Stockholm's Europe bring their stadium anthem "The Final Countdown", and Colombia's Shakira hopes to wow the crowd with her hit "Whenever, Wherever". Posthumous stars are also represented in Queen's WV16 winner "The Show Must Go On" for the United Kingdom and Amy Winehouse's WV17 winner "Back To Black" for London.
Two-time winning regions like Ireland (02-03) represented by Celtic Woman, Spain (09,20) represented by La 5a Estacion and La Oreja de Van Gogh, Italy (12-13) represented by Nathalie and Marco Mengoni, and Southern USA (14-15) represented by Evanescence look to further prove why they've won the competition twice with their entries.
Rounding out the roster are Natalia Oreiro from Argentina, Pablo Alboran and Carminho from Portugal, Nightwish from Finland, Ask Embla from Iceland, Johanna Kurkela from Uusimaa, Latifa Soyuoz from Azerbaijan and First Aid Kit from Svealand.
Good luck to all, and may the best song win!
