THE INTERVAL ACT
6
WorldVision is an international celebration of music, and for the interval act we've spared no expense. We are thrilled and honored to have American singer and actor Matthew Morrison performing here in Geneva!
A native of southern California, Matthew is best known to television audiences around the world for his role as teacher/glee club director Will Schuester on the hit FOX series Glee, which earned him two Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy nomination, also winning a Satellite award. Before that, he was a rising star on Broadway in New York City, performing major roles in shows including Hairspray, The Light in the Piazza (for which he earned a Tony award nomination), and the recent revival of South Pacific.
In May 2011, he released his self-titled debut album which features a mix of cover songs and originals, as well as duets with Gwyneth Paltrow, Sting and Sir Elton John. To promote the album, he did solo concerts in New York and London, and was the opening act for the second leg of the NKOTBSB tour.
In June 2013, Matthew went back to his Broadway roots with the album "Where It All Began", the first release from Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine's 222 label. The release is a collection of Broadway standards with a couple of new twists, and he performs these classic songs with charisma.
Matthew believes in the power of music and the arts, so we are very fortunate to have him perform the interval act tonight.
