In the middle of each semester there are continuous assessments in the form of a written test or essays. However, each course also has a final test at the end of each semester. The allocation for points is somewhat different as in total only 40% are needed to pass an exam.
All our lecturers were open minded concerning Erasmus students and helped out wherever possible. Moreover, if something was unclear we were always allowed to ask for word to clarify things.
Spare time
In our spare time there were loads of possibilities to explore the landscape or travel (with or without a tour operator). There were also lots of student offers. For example, return train tickets to Dublin or Cork are between € 20-30-, and fairly cheap.
Additionally, as stated above, Tralee has a broad pub culture. Therefore, it never gets boring and there are lots of different pubs to explore. Tralee also offers a cinema where I have been several times. Here the prices are fairly cheap as well. There is also an Aqua Dome where students can go swimming or just relax.
All in all I enjoyed my stay in Tralee. I improved my English and gained insights into new subjects. Moreover, I got to know the beautiful landscape and made friends with lots of people from different cultures and nationalities. It has been such a nice experience and I would always recommend going abroad as an Erasmus student!
