Experience of GT in general

Within the Grand Tour program several fieldtrips are included. In our case the fieldtrips included three trips to convention centers and three leisure activities. These leisure activities were a traditional Balinese dance performance, rafting and a visit to a traditional Balinese village. These trips were fun and valuable. Furthermore, the island of Bali has a lot to offer for leisure. For instance you can take trips to interesting cities such as Ubud or Lovina, climbing a volcano or doing water sports such as snorkeling, diving or surfing. The city of Legian, in which I was staying, offers numerous leisure possibilities as well such as nice restaurants, bars and shops.

What I would advise to other students is to use your leisure time to discover the island. Don’t be afraid and go discover. It is also very easy to travel to the other islands for instance to Lombok by boat or to Java, either by boat or by plane. Intercontinental flights are not that expensive and it can add another highlight to your GT experience.

I enjoyed my whole Grand Tour experience but the greatest experiences were travelling around the island of Bali, climbing mount Batur (volcano) and going to two of the other Indonesian islands, Java and Lombok.
