EXPERT OPINION students will have the right to legally work for two years in England. Compare this to what parents pay in other countries for four years of study. Thus, upon graduation, the student will receive a much better diploma than if he or she studied in the Czech Republic, Malaysia or in other countries. That is, we can give parents what they want at a lower cost. The student at the same time remains under their parent’s supervision at the very beginning, and then, when ready, he or she leaves. The money parents saved can be invested in a master’s education, which is now more important than a bachelor’s. What higher education institutions do you partner with in dual degree programs? For the Business School, our partner is the University of Coventry in the UK. They rank 14th as best universities in the UK. For specialized programs, we have an agreement with the institute La Rochelle in France, specializing in tourism. This program is considered the best in ‘tourism’ and is taught in English. Business School dual degrees are the easiest because business education is the same all over the world. The most difficult thing is law: English and American law are very different from ours. Moreover, in America Law is only offered as a post-bachelor's program. So, organizing a dual degree program is difficult then when it comes to studying the law. But we have different approaches here. We have created a dual degree program with the Financial University under the President of Russia, because Russian law and ours are more or less similar. This gives our students access to a wider market. We also have an agreement with Penn State University in the USA to take a significant number of undergraduate students for one semester as well as one person for free and ten others for their LLM program at a discount of $ 40,000. Coventry also wants to work under with us under the Law program, and we are trying to harmonize this process. We will look at the options. For the College of Arts and Sciences faculty, which teaches Political Science, Ecology and Sustainable Development, most likely our partner will be with Birkbeck College London University, which is one of the five best in the UK. It’s been very interesting working with the UK right now because they stand to lose many of their European students due to Brexit. They are looking for partners outside the European Union and are ready to give very interesting conditions that they most likely would not have given before. It is more difficult to do such programs with American universities. We have an agreement with the University of Illinois in Chicago for a Public Policy program. Students will study for one year there, and we are trying to get a discount for them so that the cost is more or less acceptable, in contrast to the total cost of annual tuition at about $ 40,000. It’s also worth adding daily expenses, and so on, it is unlikely that someone will want to go there when you can study in the UK for much less money. We have an agreement with a Chinese partner, Beijing University of Political Science and Law. One of the best in China. In any case, we will offer a choice. We will watch for a certain period how our students study, what they get from this, knowing we can always adjust the educational process. When we are the best, we will have other partners. We understand who we are, where we are and the unique programs we can provide for Kazakhstan that will create competitive graduates who can work both in Kazakhstan and abroad. supported by EUROBAK 55
