Social responsibility School of Healthy Nutrition Beneficiaries of the Project: Number of employees engaged in the Project: Second-grade students and teachers of 30 schools in Almaty and 30 schools in Nur-Sultan (Kazakh and Russian languages of educational instruction), the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition, the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan (Administration of Education of Almaty and Nur-Sultan). 5 Recognizing the role of proper nutrition, Nestlé launched the global program Nestlė for Healthier Kids in 2018, whose main goal is to nurture a nutritional culture among the younger generation. By 2030, the project should help more than 50 million children from different countries to lead them to a healthy lifestyle. In Kazakhstan the program was implemented by means of educational system of the School of Healthy Nutrition since 2014. Experienced teachers, nutritionists, and experts of the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition and the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan participated in the creation of the complex; the ministry approved this program and recommended a teaching aid be developed in conjunction with the project. Implemented in Kazakhstan since 2014, the program covers 60 schools with Kazakh and Russian language training in Almaty and Nur-Sultan annually (about 6,400 children and 360 teachers). Since 2014 the program has covered 220 schools and 23,200 children (data at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.) The program is held in the elective course format (class hours) throughout the academic year. While each child receives a free interactive workbook with a storyline featuring Aldar-Kose, a favorite character of Kazakh fairy tales, in the role of assistant teacher that explains ‘tasty and useful’ material, which is a teaching aid provided for teachers. . The program covers the following topics: 38 world monitor • Daily Routine • Basics of Digestion • Pyramid of Healthy Nutrition • Healthy Foods • Table Manners • Hygiene • Importance of Water • Sport and an Active Lifestyle To promote the program, Nestlé conducts the following additional events annually: a teachers' contest, a best drawing contest, a Chef Day in conjunction with the Worldchefs Organization, and a workshop for teachers, as well as the festival-competition ‘Connoisseurs of the school of healthy nutrition’. It should be noted that the international cooperation with scientists and educators from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan is developing within the scope of the School of Healthy Nutrition program. Annually the three most outstanding teachers participate in a three-day Nestle' for Healthier Kids International Conference in Moscow, where they receive vocational training, advanced training, share their experience in implementing the program, participate in an international exhibition of works and also participate in the cultural program (city tour, museums, sightseeing tours, etc.).
