EXPERT OPINION Global HR trends. Kazakhstan In April, we received the results of the 9th Deloitte Global HR Trends survey. This year, 119 countries participated in the survey, including Kazakhstan for the first time. The research is rightly one of the most authoritative among HR-specialists and business representatives, as it allows the reader to identify trends in human resources management that are important today as well as understand how they will develop in the future. Maria Lyubushkina, Consulting Department Senior Manager, Deloitte Caspian Region Мария Любушкина, старший менеджер департамента Консалтинга, «Делойт» в Каспийском регионе The automation of routine HR business processes, digitalisation and ‘robotisation’ were noted a some of the main HR trends seen both globally and in Kazakhstan. Having said that, it is worth pointing out that 44% of the organisations across the world that took part in the survey have only just started to automate their processes. Furthermore, according to the survey, only 32% of organisations have actively automated their business processes. That figure for Kazakhstan HR processes is only 17%. At the same time, 50% of respondents from Kazakhstan expect to see accelerated growth in process ‘robotisation’ in the next three years. Recruiting and personnel administration have seen the greatest level of HR- process automation; with 73% of Kazakhstan and approximately 60% of overseas companies confirming they had standardised recruitment approaches. Systems that revolve around searching, advertising for and processing candidate responses have already been automated. Nevertheless, current artificial-intelligence technology, such as chat-bots, allow organisations to practically reduce to almost zero the recruiter participation in the hiring process. Of course, this is only true for the mass of general positions, because recruitment to higher or rarer positions is done on a more case-by-case basis. At the same time, we have also seen a trend towards the automation of some of the more complex selection and hiring processes. 40 world monitor Respondents in Kazakhstan and across the world agree regarding the need to develop HR-technology. According to 67% of Kazakhstan companies and 74% across the world, investment in HR-technology will increase significantly in the next three years. It is worth remembering that HR- system integration with cross-functional platforms will aid the overall development of the management performance process. How will the working environment change as a consequence of automation? In Kazakhstan, 48% of employers surveyed and 66% across the work believe that the main consequence of automation in the next three years will be employee retraining. Computer knowledge, robot and automation programming, the skills required to work with new technology and tools, and the skills needed for critical thinking will be key in the so-called fourth industrial revolution. Researchers believe that the skills needed to survive are language, communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to adapt and think quickly in changing conditions. How will HR departments change within the context of all this? We believe that the future for HR leaders participating in business strategy creation and implementation and organisational development and HR function priorities understand their clients and people, and are well equipped to react to the challenges of society as a whole.
