Information regarding typical learners who might take the course
This course is suitable for learners with an interest in design and technology generally and provides a solid
foundation for those considering further study or a career in design, manufacturing, engineering, science,
marketing and related disciplines. In addition to this, the course provides a complementary practical
experience for those studying subjects in the technologies and expressive arts.

Course Structure and Conditions of Award
Each course comprises 3 mandatory units. Learners must pass all of these units.
In addition, National 4 candidates must also complete the Added Value Unit successfully - Making a Finished
Product from Wood.

Assessment
All units are internally assessed and will be subject to SQA verification. There is no final examination.
