Interviewer: Do you have
any suggestions for other
entrepreneurs starting out or
going through a similar situation
that you find yourself in?
JPK: Find a company that aligns
with your values - first and
foremost. That is something that
is almost more important than
the product.
Do your research of not only the company - but the leadership. This is important,
because you want to be with likeminded people who can help you grow, who can
challenge you and give you the tools you need. You will still be doing the work but they
provide the tools you need to run with.
This is important because you see women go into a company and fail. I do not think it is
because of the company or themselves, however, they just might not have the support
system to help them grow.
Interviewer: You touched on the whole Social Media component, something that
was lacking in your former company. What happened is that you went out and taught
yourself and taught your team - is that correct? Does this new company have a strong
social media presence?
JPK: Yes, their support system is unbelievable. A lot of the social medial work I was
doing on my own, they have in place. That being said...
I believe that you have to take the tools you are given and put
your own personal flair on it!
I think that anyone going into direct sales, you still have to brand yourself and your
personal flair on whatever it is.
