Jhonathan Pierre Cornell Fashion Industry Guru There are not many times in life that one meets genuine talent that is not afraid to share the spotlight with other stars. However, I was fortunately blessed to met and chat with Jhonathan Pierre Cornell who is moving and shaking things up in the world of fashion. Jhon Pierre knew early in his childhood that he would build his own business empire. He credits his mother and grandmother both seamstresses with entrepreneurial spirits who inspired the same zest and zeal in him. Being the eldest of five siblings, he fondly recalled emulating fashion events complete with flavo r colored water in elegant glasses to toast the fantasy occasion. He studied at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, travels extensively through New York, Florida and Georgia. He wears several business hats and is hands on in several aspects of the Fashion Business such design, styling, photography, modeling agent, managing and Public Relations. Jhon Pierre is a husband, father and very private with his personal life but shared during our chat that he is able to travel as he does without worry because his wife keeps things fine tuned at home. I got a chance to listen to his well rounded wisdom and advice on building a business, finding the right people for his team, giving back to the youth, and mentoring others. During our chat, Jhon Pierre shared pearls of wisdom that come from one living the ups and downs of life but getting up with grace and integrity. One of his most profound statements caught my attention because of its’ biblical foundation. Jhon Pierre believes in leveraging the power of planting, cultivating and harvesting. He learned that is not simply enough to say, ‘I want to be…’ (planting the seed) one must go in forward motion into the act of becoming (cultivating) and in saying and doing one must then look and expect the harvest. He also shared not all reap tremendous harvests but nonetheless a harvest does spring forth. In terms of this young businessman planting, cultivating and harvesting he also practices sowing. Accompanying Jhon Pierre were two examples that attested to his leadership and tutelage in their own business paths. Ja’Me aka Emon Almonte (my son) who is the Lead Writer for Nascence Magazine, a raising online fashion mag, founded by LeRoux Fayson. Ja’Me is working on a plus size underwear line and Michael Ware, single father, fashion model and budding businessman and Founder of AMG (Ambitious Motivated and Gifted).
