Putting it mildly , the month of April surpassed my planning . I plan and God laughs . I prepared for April ’ s A . M . Power Networking Webinar just as I had in the past put forth the theme , created a Power Point presentation , secured Presenters , advertised , and invited attendees . Check , check ,
and done . Yeah , right !
God completely shifted my neatly made plans and put a very important Public Service Announcement in my mouth , “ Assessing Value ” and I thought it would be a continuation of my previous presentation on “ Maximizing Value ” not so ; far from it . By the time He finished downloading information to my mainframe ( my inner man ) I am convicted and convinced we ( all of us ) have no idea what value means or even how valuable we
are .
By the time I finished studying , referencing and researching relevant examples , I knew I didn ’ t have a clue about the theme or the topic . But , thank God for His wisdom . He says , His ways
|
are not like our ways nor are His thoughts like our thoughts . I learned in April not to think as much with my mind but rather with the mind of Christ ; that is truly the
optimal option .
“ Assessing Value ” will most like be made available to the public as an E- book . I will keep you posted as to when you can purchase it . But allow me to give you the abbreviated version . No doubt you know exactly to the penny how much you should receive in your paycheck and you know precisely how much you need for you and your family to live . Banks know how much and how long you will be paying your house and car notes . The vast major assess value of things relatively well . Things like a new Bentley , an exotic vacation to the Fuji Isles or the latest IPhone are all things we can easily part with money for because we have been made aware of their value or worth . The English word value doesn ’ t do justice to the Greek translation of value the word “ timao ” which
|
means to honor , revere , to show respect . After gleaning this knowledge I had to ponder who and what did I timao ( value )? Was I equating and giving timao to things and people that in all truth gave no timao to me ?
Truth be told , I was .
On the reflections and evaluations of people , places and things I valued I had to acknowledge a lack of timao in light of the definition there was no value or valuation leveled because I had be working on the premise that valuation or value only equates to money or economy . However , based on Isaiah 55 this ideology is completely wrong and that particular level of thinking only leads to dejection , despair and degeneration . We labor for things that do not satisfy and are not meat for us , because we have brought with money that has no intrinsic value . Money , currency , paper , coins can be replaced by anything because ‘ money ’ is not real . Understand at one point in time salt was the currency of the day as was
beads .

In giving money such honor or respect we in essence have position it as invaluable and without it or enough of it we have reduced or measure our
worth .
Consider , this as an example a certain widow was facing debt collectors who would enslave her two boys to pay off her debt . But because she had a relationship with the Prophet Elisha and her neighbors she was able to without money solve her debt . She and her sons paid off the debt and live the rest of lives well . ( 2
Kings 4:1-7 ) Value ( timao ) be familiar with the value you yield .
