would look like if the challenge we are dealing with never existed. In my case, my intervention plans ranged from putting up motivational posters, to making a motivational video, to making a challenge that people could participate in. Below are more intervention plans I thought of. In order to come to my conclusion, I rated how convenient each intervention was per category on a scale of 1-5, 1 being the least convenient and 5 being the most. The criteria I used to judge all 7 possible intervention plans was: length of time, population of people that would be able to participate, cost, and who the audience participating is . After rating all of the interventions per category, I added up all of those numbers and multiplied the sum by how desirable the intervention would be (also ranked on a scale of 1-5, 1 being the least and 5 being the most desirable). Due to the high score that the manicure/pedicure challenge had in comparison to making a book, a motivational video, a comercial, putting up posters, or setting a national woman week, I chose that one to be my intervention. This in turn leads us to the next step in our STF process: stakeholders.
Stakeholders are people who are directly involved in either causing your challenge or are being affected by it. In order to get one step closer to making an intervention plan, we need some insider information. This calls for us freshmen to email, call, text, or by some means contact ourcorresponding stakeholders.
I was able to get an interview from Kathryn Honecker who works in a law firm called Rose Law Group. After speaking to our stakeholders, in my case, Kathryn, we would ask them if they think the intervention plan we believe is best is appropriate to tackle the challenge at hand. If they think it could use some work, we kindly ask them what details could be rearranged or added to make it fit. If we’re given the thumbs up, we can go ahead and begin to execute our intervention. Luckily for me, Kathryn said that my challenge sounded great and that there wasn’t anything in particular that needed to be changed.
The following page has the answers that Kathryn gave me when she agreed to be interviewed through a phone call. The bold and letter Q indicate the question for Mrs. Honecker. The letter A and paragraph below the bold is Kathryn’s response written in third person.
