Mortgage Broker Bonnie Trombetta
Mortgages by Bonnie –
Think Outside the Bank
One of my most advantageous discoveries this year as a Mortgage
Broker has been to ask successful people both in my industry as well
as outside, “As Entrepreneurs, how do you manage your business?”
“What does your work day look like?” “How do you deal with work,
life, balance?” We can learn so much about their boundaries related
to a self-employed career. Listening to them, soaking it in, and
remembering, has been infectious. My favorite conversations have
been ones with those who are eager to share, because I am listening
to them. Don’t be afraid to learn from other successful people. They
are not our competition, but our asset.
If I was ever to be your mentor, I would suggest to you that perfection is just not
possible….but trying to catch perfection will most certainly help in finding excellence.
Your excellence! I believe you will have a richer life if you search for friends that are
older than you, younger than you, or a different nationality than you. The various
dynamics can be most exciting and intriguing.
I have been asked on occasion, how I keep my decision making responses and my
feelings or emotions separate, when dealing with my customers who need a mortgage
to buy a home; a refinance to consolidate some expenses; to start their first rental
in their investment portfolio. My reply – I am not sure this separation can exist. My
passion and energy in being able to say those words, “you are approved,” just cannot
happen without excitement and that emotion. Listening to their journey – their story –
allows me to connect on a personal level.
About 6 years ago, I read a book called “Heaven is for Real” by Todd Burpo. A very
dear friend gave it to me, while on a houseboat trip in BC. It was during a time related
to the loss of my sweet niece, Ava Hope. This is a must read. Any time someone asks
for a suggestion on a book to open, I suggest this one almost all the time. It gives you
a glimpse of what life is like in Heaven, from the mouth of a young boy who had a
near death experience at the age of three. I promise you won’t be able to put that book
down. There is a movie that came after the novel, but I would offer to read
the book first.
I hope you have been as engaged reading my story as I have had in putting pen to
paper. And yes…I put pen to paper!
