A child finds solace in animals in A Boy and a Jaguar by Alan Rabinowitz and Catia Chien. Based on Alan’s child- hood, this book recounts how his stutter disappeared when he talked to animals. Troubled that the jaguars at the zoo seemed sad, he made it his life’s work to create a jaguar refuge in Central Ameri- ca. Suitable for young readers.
