Favorite guitar amp for recording? My favorite amp is the PRS DGT 15, followed by a 1962 Fender Deluxe.
Electric guitar amp mic? For guitar cabinets, I’ m a Shure 57 mixed with a SE Ribbon typically.
Main bass instrument on hand? My main bass is a 1972 Fender Jazz. It’ s so great that some of my studio friends borrow it.
Favorite effect pedal you have used? This is an impossible question, so I would say Eventide H-90, or Klon Centaur.
Brand of headphones? I’ m very happy with the Focal Listen. Some of the singers I work with prefer the Beats which have a ton of low end. I use the Vic Firth headphones for cutting acoustics, They have amazing isolation as they are made for drummers. Some of the producers I work with are supper picky about any bleed into the microphone.
Main vocal mic? My main vocal mic is a modified RODE Classic. I also am a huge fan of the Warm Audio WA- 251. That mic is amazing. I have a collection of others as well.
Acoustic guitar preamps or pickup system used? I love the Fishman Acoustic pickups.
Favorite electric guitar on hand? My favorite electric is the PRS Fiore. It’ s a Strat-like SSH design. Super cool looking and sounding guitar.
Brand of electric guitar strings you use for recording? I use D’ Addario NYXL 10s.
Brand of cables you use? I typically use the best cables I can afford. I have some silver, crazy expensive ones, but the Boss BIC-P18A Premium are fantastic!
Brand of acoustic treatment? I am a fan of Auralex studio foam. They make a great bass trap for corners.
Professionally designed studio space? My new studio is an LEDE( live-end, dead-end) design I learned from Mike Cronin, a worldfamous designer. I have QRD panels for the live side and Auralex Studio foam panels on the
Main mic for recording acoustic guitar? For acoustic, I love Neumann KM 185. If I’ m going stereo, I’ ll add a tube condenser. Usually a Warm Audio WA-251 or even an Audio Technica 4033.
Favorite acoustic guitar on hand? My favorite acoustic is a 1942 Martin 000; Herringbone; next to that is a beautiful McPherson.
