AUDIO RIF has just released a new wireless in-ear monitor system that is cost effective, has 24bit / 48KHz sampling and a range of 260 feet. WM received the M1 Stereo Wireless In-Ear Monitor System for review. The package includes one transmitter, one receiver, an antenna, 2 x ¼” connector cables, power supply and a manual. The AUDIO RIF receiver is powered by 2 x AA batteries and is simple to adjust with the off on button and arrows on the front, plus volume on top. It has output for your in-ear monitors and a 3.5mm line out on top. The transmitter unit has an LED screen on the front with three buttons for adjustments, volume, power on / off and a headphone output for monitoring. Connectivity on the back of the M1 transmitter includes ¼” Loop Out left & right, and AF input left & right channels. The adjustable antenna plugs into the back of the transmitter and so does the power supply. I patched in music from a BOSS acoustic amplifier direct and the transmitter and receiver both connected fast and sounded great. The manual says it can reach 260ft, I didn’ t go that far but I did walk all over my house with interruption in signal or audio quality degradation. Priced at only $ 349, the AUDIO RIF M1 Stereo Wireless in-ear monitor system is a great value in a cost-effective professional audio system. Peavey has really brought back some great amplifiers and products that we all grew up on playing. I was blown away at the NAMM show to see the company is now taking the sounds and effects from their best amplifiers and shrinking them down to pedal size. Like the Rock Master Preamp Pedal. Peavey essentially took the Preamp circuit from the Rock Master( circa 1990) and scaled it into a powerful pedal. The layout consists of Ultra Gain at the top of the pedal with Pre & Post adjustments plus shift. Voicing is handled by a 3-band EQ of Bottom, Body and Edge. The anti-click true bypass footswitches control Gain initiation and Bypass mode. The High Voltage Trans Tube supply is driven by a standard 9-volt battery or 9VDC power source. On the front of the pedal, you have single end ¼” input and ¼” output. But how does it sound plugged in? Do not test the Rock Master Guitar Preamp pedal out late at night when your family is sleeping – like me. The Rock Master essentially behaves like the front end of your amplifier. The left footswitch engages the Gain, and the right Bypass switch engages everything. This pedal makes it possible to sculpt your overdriven tone from the adjustments on the pedal and get as gritty or full-on overdrive / distortion as you want and the Rock Master can handle it.
