[ WM ] What is your main stage and songwriting guitar and / or keyboard you use?
[ Brooke ] I have always owned and played Martin guitars and now solely play my signature edition Martin BL-00028 on stage( still very crazy to say that sentence). I’ m not too fussed about keyboards to lead from – anything with weighted keys is fine by me – this usually ends up being a Nord Stage. Back in the day when I would play electric guitar on stage, I would go between my Gretsch Tennessee Rose and Fender Telecaster.
but also keep a D’ Addario NS Micro Soundhole Tuner clipped in the soundhole now. My friend E Edwards put me onto those a couple of years ago and I love them. This is the third time I’ ve mentioned D’ Addario, I’ m realizing( I don’ t have an endorsement or anything, I clearly just like their stuff)!
[ WM ] For In-Ear Monitors what brand are you using?
[ Brooke ] I used Ultimate Ears for 20 years but recently bought some 64 Audios, so I’ m using those with the UEs for backups( which I need, as I already chipped the 64’ s so they’ re in for repair at the moment – oops).
[ WM ] What do you use to capture song ideas down with?
[ Brooke ] Voice Memo app on my iPhone.
[ WM ] What is the next piece of gear you
[ WM ] What brand / model vocal microphone do you use on stage? In your home studio( if you have one)?
[ Brooke ] Vocal mic on stage is a DPA4018V. I’ ve had a loooong journey trying to find the right vocal mic and I’ m still on it, but this is where I’ ve landed the past couple of years. For demo purposes at home, I use a good old Shure SM7B.
[ WM ] If you play an acoustic guitar, what pickup system is on your guitar?
[ Brooke ] All my acoustics have LR Baggs“ Anthem” pickups.
[ WM ] What brand capo do you use?
[ Brooke ] I’ m not fussy and will use whatever is in my case. I used to use Shubbs a lot but as years went by, I preferred something I could just clip on the headstock when not in use. So, a regular D’ Addario trigger capo works great for me.
[ WM ] What guitar strings do you prefer?( Acoustic and electric if you use both)
[ Brooke ] Martin or D’ Addario light gauge Phosphor Bronze strings.
[ WM ] Are you using a clip-on tuner? A floor pedal tuner? Which brand?
