GEAR REVIEW
CODA STOMP BLUETOOTH | Mitch Bohannon
Plug and play. I could simply stop my review right there. I am more than impressed with the functionality, build quality, and simplicity of this pedal and I’ m excited to tell you about it.
A Bluetooth page-turning pedal for your iPad? Didn’ t you recently write articles about not using iPads on the worship platform? Great question, great memory, and thank you for reading! Yes, I did. Although I’ m not a fan of using tablets on platform when leading worship, they are certainly helpful when rehearsing and preparing!
So, let’ s take a close look at this Coda Stomp and see what it does. Out of the box, it comes in a firm, molded zipper case. Can I just say, travel cases these days are so much better and classier than the ratty cardboard boxes I remember as a kid? The pedal is metal cased just like a guitar pedal with a smooth powder coat finish and nice feeling stomp switches. Everything is logically laid out and labeled. The manual is easily accessed via QR code located on the back of the packaging and is easy to follow.
The power button, the infinity button, and the mode button are all recessed so that you won’ t accidentally select them while in use. Check out my first impressions on the video. The“ infinity” button is to be selected if you want the pedal to continuously send“ page-turn” signals for as long as you keep the stomp button depressed. Other than that, it’ s a single turn for a single press. That’ s how I’ m using it.
As for the modes, they correlate with directional arrows on your keyboard. The first mode selection signals the“ up” or“ down” keyboard arrows. The second mode signals the“ left” or“ right” arrows. The third sends a“ page up” or“ page down” signal, and the last sends either a“ space bar” or the“ return” key. Every app you use can respond to different keystrokes, so you may have to test the different modes with your particular app.
For instance, I first used the Planning Center Music Stand App. Visually, my pages slide left and right as I scroll through them with my finger. However, they respond to the“ up” and“ down” keyboard arrows. Once I put the Coda into“ up / down” mode, it worked just perfectly.
Now I’ m ahead of myself! Power input can be either a 9v battery internally or a 9v power adapter. There is a USB port on the back of the pedal that will enable you to run power 56 BUYER’ S GUIDE # 11- 2025 WL Subscribe to [ WM ] for Free...
