[WM] Worship Leader Buyer's Guide #11 | Page 35

it was a new personal monitor system. Well, it can function as such, but there’ s much more and the possibilities are growing as the system is still developing and expansion products are on the horizon. Let’ s dive in.
I spent some time visiting with and learning from Xvive’ s Joe Sanborn, who was a key member of the development team for More You. This system was designed for multiple uses and with expansion in mind. Currently the system consists of the main HUB and the 2x expansion units each with two inputs. Soon to be released will be a few options with multiple inputs.
Just brainstorming, I could imagine this system being used by a small or portable church for inputs and in-ear monitoring with the main outputs going directly to a PA. More You would also be ideal for a recording band. If each member had the More You HUB at home, they could use it to record individually at home and then bring all the HUBs together and record collectively as one system( up to 24 inputs with 8 units each with two XLR / TRS combo inputs each). Another use I can see … our church has been in a situation for over a year where the worship band was unable to complete a full rehearsal pre-service due to our service schedule. So, they have been doing an“ acoustic” run-through in the green room area. If we had a full More You system setup, they could all plug in and have a more useful rehearsal.
2X EXPANSION UNIT
How many times have you set up to record at home or a remote location and created a vocal“ room” or guitar“ room” and had cables running all over the floor? Well, with a HUB and one 2x unit at home, I can record my guitar and vocal through the HUB in one room and with a single long XLR cable, I can connect the 2x unit for another two inputs whether they are vocals or instruments in a completely different area of the house. That single XLR cable will power the 2x unit, carry 2-way talkback, power, and monitoring, and carry both inputs( plus up to 24 channels of audio) from the 2x through the HUB and to the DAW. That’ s a lot of I / O in such a small unit. Normally, I would expect that amount of information and power to be carried by a CAT5 cable! The USB-C coming from the computer can power up to two of the More You units. To power all eight possible, simply add a( 65w) power source to the main HUB and the power along with all the I / O will be carried through the connecting XLR cables. No more yelling down the hallway when there is a problem! Each person, on their own unit, can control the level of both of their inputs and there is local reverb for each channel as well.
The More You HUB is priced at $ 329.99 and the 2x units are $ 259.99. I’ ve been recording my next release through this system all week and have been extremely pleased with the process and audio clarity.
