[ WM ] Tell us how this journey all began for you . How did the course of your life lead you to where you are now ? a worship leading tip every single day . I did that for the next 2 and a half years while eventually transitioning into running a YouTube channel .

[ Spencer Cormany ] When I was 13 years old , my Dad bought me my first acoustic guitar . For the next few years , as soon as I got home from school , I ’ d go up to my bedroom and practice for three hours every day . I eventually joined the worship team at my church and learned how to play with a band .

A few years into playing on the team , the worship team leader stepped down from his position and the church came to me ( a 16-yearold kid !) and asked if I would take over . I agreed and spent the next year and a half trying to figure out how to lead a worship team .

After high school , I went to Liberty University Online majoring in Religion with a minor in Biblical Studies . While I was in college , I led worship at another local church in my hometown . I became a full-time Worship Pastor at that church when I graduated and have been on staff in churches ever since .

[ WM ] When did you see a need for what you are offering right now ? Tell us about the resource ( s ) you provide others in the worship community ?

[ Spencer ] In late 2017 , I had been out of college for a few years and was reading / watching every piece of worship leading training I could get my hands on . I eventually got to a point where I felt like I was only consuming information and never contributing to the conversation .

So , in early 2018 , I started an Instagram page (@ Leadingworshipwell ) where I started posting

All my life I served in small churches . I noticed that most worship leading resources were created by worship leaders at larger churches for worship leaders at larger churches . So , now I create resources for small church worship leaders . I focus on teaching theology and practical tips that are accessible to leaders who don ’ t have all the resources a large church might have .

[ WM ] Let ’ s talk gear . What is your primary instrument for the stage and songwriting ?

[ Spencer ] 2010 Taylor 214ce . It ’ s special to me because during my last year in high school I served as the “ Praise Team Coordinator ” at the church I grew up in . I saved up the small stipend I got every week and bought the Taylor as a high school graduation gift for myself .

[ WM ] If you use a microphone for the stage , studio , or podcast , what brands / models do you use ?
