ne of the exciting parts of community beautification that I’ve
observed throughout my Wyoming travels is mural creation. One of
the Wyoming cities that embodies this idea beautifully is Laramie.
“The Laramie Mural Project continues to beautify downtown Laramie with
the creation of large-scale murals by local artists that celebrate Laramie’s
quality of life and community connectivity,” says the Laramie Main Street
Alliance.
This summer the community mural idea takes on a whole new meaning with
a “paint-by-number” creation that the entire community can participate in!
Senior mural artist Meghan Meier will be creating the intricate artwork,
entitled “Many Hands Make Work Play,” which will be at the First Street
Plaza, First & Grand Avenue. “The community is invited to help paint
June 20 – 28th for one hour shifts between 9 and 2 p.m. or 5 and 7 p.m,”
the Alliance says. “Paint opportunities are on a first come, first serve basis.
Individuals, families and groups are encouraged to sign up at the First Street
Plaza starting June 20th.”
