WLM | my Wyoming craving
WLM: If you could demonstrate
Wyoming in one image, what would
it be and why?
DO: I’m sure a lot of people equate
Wyoming with the Tetons or
Yellowstone. (I will not tell you that
I’ve never been to either place even
though I have lived in this great state
for 38 years.) Many people equate
Wyoming to Frontier Days. To me,
however, Wyoming is about the big,
open spaces. It’s about the beautiful
skies that we have. To me, Wyoming
in one image would entail big, fluffy
white clouds in an amazingly blue
sky, above a prairie of tall grasses
and wildflowers...and maybe throw
in a bison or antelope.

Vincent Carrethers fell and severely injured his shoulder.
With his wife just finishing up chemotherapy and three
grandchildren in their custody, he couldn’t be far from his family.
Vincent turned to Dr. Scott Croft, one of Wyoming’s most
experienced fracture care Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Croft trained at a Level 1 Trauma Center, and then practiced
Level 1 Trauma orthopedic surgery for 15 years in the Phoenix area.
Dr. Croft says that “the advantage of having an experienced orthopedic trauma surgeon
here in this area of Wyoming is medically stable patients don’t have to travel for treatment
of their complex fractures. They can stay here, close to home, for their surgery and their
followup appointments. It’s much less disruptive to their lives.”
