my office over the years in tears over
their bladder. Too many times they
find themselves in the uncomfortable
situation of losing control and all too
often, this leads to a humiliating experience. The urgency of the matter
may be the problem but more often
for women, it is a stressful situation.

Urinary incontinence is unintentional
loss of urine. Stress urinary incontinence occurs when urine involuntarily escapes the bladder with physical
activities that increase the amount
of pressure (or “stress”) within the
abdomen—such as coughing, laughing, sneezing, running or having sex.
This in turn overcomes the physical
ability to hold urine. This can also
create urinary urgency or a strong
urge to empty the bladder but often
the incontinence happens without
