WLM | design Parco by Kati Hime photography provided by Wyoming State Archives, Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources p I n our last issue, we took a look at the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Highway. When it came to images for the article, I headed to one of my favorite places in all of Wyoming, the Wyoming State Archives, housed within the same building as the Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne. If you ever want to touch Wyoming history, this is the place to do it. I tell them every time I’m in there, “You have the COOLEST job.” And without fail the response is, “I know!” When I was collecting photos from Sinclair for the feature, I came across the Parco Hotel. Being a fan of design, the images made me pause. This is a beautiful, Spanish Colonial structure that was captured by equally stunning, black & white images from the 1920s. I had no clue that such a beautiful, historic hotel existed in Sinclair – I was fascinated to learn more! While at the archives researching the hotel, I had the good fortune of seeing Dr. Phil Roberts, University of Wyoming history professor, visiting with the staff.
