on Climate Change, Shogren was a part

roots-rock and country-blues band,” and
enjoyed a banner year in 2013. Their
album The Fate & The Fruit earned
prestige on many charts, including the
Euro-Americana Chart, the Roots Music
Report Roots-Rock Chart, and was voted
#2 Album of 2012 by Wyoming Public

of the team that won the Nobel Peace
Prize with Al Gore in 2007, and he’s a
professor in economics at the University
of Wyoming. His accolades go on, but
we’re here to talk about his music. Four
albums completed and a history of
appearances in shows around Wyoming
and the region, Shanghai’d represented
Wyoming last year in Memphis at the
International Blues Challenge. “We were
the only musician of the thousands
on Beale Street with a mandolin,”
Shogren says. And what did he think
