Exchange Students’ Night Words by Morgan Singer Photos by Alisius Leong the exchange student dinner that they were holding in a few weeks. The enthusiasm held by WKW students was contagious, igniting excitement amongst the exchange students as well. I enjoyed the parties and events the school held, with their laughter, excitement, and creativity that made me feel right at home. As an exchange student, I could tell WKW made great effort to reach out to their exchange students, a gesture I really appreciated. One of the most memorable events was the talent show, which created an opportunity for interaction and helped us have a good time. Friends of mine (who were exchange students as well) were surprised at the school’s efforts to engage us. WKW is special in my heart because the people there sincerely cared. I loved how I always feel welcomed by the smiles around from other students. I already miss the lunches in the canteen with my classmates. NTU has a terrific reputation for being one of the top academic and technical schools in the world and the Wee Kim Wee School did not disappoint either. The people that make up the WKW community are some of the most outgoing and funny people I have ever met. Thank you all for a terrific semester I will never forget. Everyone gets the first day jitters. It’s always a little nerve-racking being the new kid in class, but when you are thousands of miles away, separated by 12 times zones, being completely alone on the first day is more intimidating than just trying to have lunch with the cool kids. When I first came to WKW, a million thoughts were running through my mind, but it didn’t take long for me to feel a part of this community. It was Ethel Chua who made the first big impression on me.
