Sanskrit. She studied Buddhist Pali and Prakrit
texts for her Master’s Degree.
Profession
She became a teacher at village schools in
Allahabad, that’s when she started to follow
the Gandhian policies such as not speaking in
English, wearing Khadi. During that time she
didn’t actively participate in political activities.
She just followed ideologies.
Prayag Mahila Vidyapeeth, a private college in
Allahabad focused on giving knowledge about
cultural and literary education to girls, she was
a headmistress in that college and then became
the Chancellor.

Hindi Literature as a freedom fighter and a
women rights activist in 1982 she was given the
‘Jnanpith Award’
