UN Reforms Need A ‘Positive Change’
Says PM Narendra Modi
Modi had a discussion with Ray Dalio, the Founder,
Co-Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Bridgewater
Associates regarding the need for change in the reforms of the
UN. The reason this needs to be looked at is because the UN hasn’t
made any progress in solving conflicts. He believes that reforms
need to be altered.
He mentioned that there are
a few countries who use the
Institution as a ‘global tool’
instead of a platform to ‘resolve
conflicts’
The UN could not progress
much from the time it turned 70
and he is hoping to see it do
better by the time it turns 75.
He added that the UN should go
beyond assisting during natural
disasters and calamities and
focus on recognizing talent and
manpower as well.
