Surajkund Mela is a unique international crafts fair celebrated at
surajkund in Faridabad, Haryana,India during the first fortnight of
each February. It is the place for the celebration of the folk Indian
traditions and cultural heritage.
It is the astonishing host
for the wide range of crafts,
music, dance, ethnic
cuisines and many more.
Since 1987, every year it
has been attracting millions
of visitors with the unique
theme and occupied a place
on the international calendar.
This crafts eve gathers the
talented artisans, painters,
weavers, sculptures, and
craftsmen across the India.
Surajkund encourages the
talents of SAARC nations.

History of Surajkund:
Surajkund located at 8 km
from the Delhi. Once this place
was under the control of Tomar
Clan, cheiftain, Raja Suraj,
Pal, being sun worshipper they
had built the sun pool in the
adjacent area and this territory
was named after this sunpool.
This amphitheatre like sunpool
lies just behind the grounds
of mela. This reservoir was
designed to meet the water
needs of the the surrounding
area. The reservoir gets
its waters from the stream
linked to the Anang dam.
It is designed to store the
seasonal rain water from the
Aravali Hills.
