If you were lucky enough to be one of the 93 schools who joined us virtually on World Book Day , you will already have seen and heard The Last Bear .
We meet April as she begins her new adventure with her father moving to The Arctic . Her father is researching and taking daily temperatures on Bear Island . He leaves April much to her own devices and of course those fabulous rainbow wellies !
April begins to explore the island and discovers to her absolute delight that they are not alone and in fact there is a bear left on Bear Island .
A polar bear who is lost a long way from home and needs a friend . April steps into those boots or paws ! They form a fabulous friendship with lots of roars form both April and her bear ! Adventures follow of exploring the island together and making a very special friendship .
We have copies in the shop and I can highly recommend this book . Hannah has since our event won the Blue Peter awards for The Last Bear .
Her new book The Lost Whale is due for publication 31st March 2022 .
