BORDEAUX WINE FESTIVAL The culmination of this years River Festival was the second Bordeaux Wine Festival, held on the iconic UNESCO World Heritage waterfront in the shadows of the three graces. With 14 wine growers and over 4,500 bottles of Bordeaux wine tasted, the city has truly fallen for the charms of the wine region. The festival which won the NOEA Award’s Best New Event, in its inaugural year, has gone from strength to strength with new elements including a Sommelier competition which added even greater interest to the original award-winning format. Visitors from the city and across the UK enjoyed 8 tasting glasses of wines from the region, Chef demonstrations from some of the UK’s best new Chefs and a gastronomic feast served by some of the regions best foodies. And like all good events, plans for next years are already underway! 88 wirrallife.com
