HOT STUFF STOVES & DISCOUNT VW AUDI CENTRE RAISE £ 4600 FOR CHARITY
If you were driving through Hoylake this December you may have seen a herd of reindeers adorning the pavements and the roundabout at Kings Gap .
You may have also visited Hoylake ’ s own Santa Claus , Derek Holmes of Discount VW Audi Centre with his sleigh which was pulled through Hoylake every Saturday by stunning wicker reindeers . Derek ( Santa ) decided to sell some of his herd of Dasher , Dancer , Prancer , Vixen , Comet , Cupid , Donner and Blitzen to raise money for local charities . Kate Johnson from Hot Stuff Stoves offered to help and the herd soon arrived outside the showroom on Market Street .
It was obvious very quickly that the herd would need to be increased , as customers and local residents all wanted some Reindeer magic in their homes and gardens .
Over 4 weeks , all of the reindeers were sold and two of the 7ft beauties were also raffled to raise even more money . The total raised was an amazing £ 4600 which was divided between 5 charities chosen by Derek and Kate .
The following charities received there donations just before Christmas , iPLANitkids , Wirral Mind , Merseyside Retired Police Dog Benevolent Fund , The Royal British Legion - a charity very close to Derek ’ s heart and lastly Motor Neurone Disease Association Wirral which is a charity particularly close to Kate ’ s heart after losing her Mum last year to this cruel disease . After the success of the sales , the reindeers will return this year .
