THE JUDGING PANEL
WIRRAL BUSINESS AWARDS 2017
The finalists for the Wirral Business Awards 2017 have
been announced.
The shortlist consists of 40 organisations, who will now compete
across ten categories with winners being announced at the gala
dinner held at Thornton Manor on 22nd September.
Organised by Wirral Chamber of Commerce and now in its
eleventh year, the event is supported by headline sponsors
Progress to Excellence Group Ltd and Russell Taylor Group.
standard of entries this year have again been extremely high and
consequently was very difficult choosing those which are going
forward to the next stage, but I offer my congratulations to all the
applicants and finalists.”
Speaking of the applications, Ben Miller thought, “The entries
for this year’s Wirral Business Awards are well placed to achieve
even greater business success in the year ahead. I am delighted
that Wirral has a thriving business community which is bringing
innovation and success to the area.”
Recognised as one of the region’s largest and most prestigious
business events, it highlights the innovation and enterprise the
community has in making Wirral and the wider city region as
locations of business excellence. Alan Evans summarised, “Wirral Council is proud to be
part of the Wirral Business Awards 2017, and the diversity
of the companies entering this year, large and small, new and
established, was outstanding and will all play key roles in Wirral’s
future business growth.”
A four-strong judging panel decided which entries made it
through to the final in each category, comprising Chris Fry
(Office Senior Partner at KPMG in the UK), Ben Miller (Partner
at DLA Piper), Alan Evans (Strategic Commissioner for Growth
for Wirral Council) and Paula Basnett (CEO of Wirral Chamber
of Commerce). It is expected that more than 500 leading business people will
attend the Gala Dinner at Thornton Manor on September 22nd
when the awards will be presented on what promises to be one of
the region's largest business networking events of the year.
Paula Basnett said, "We are very proud to organise this annual
event on behalf of our business community. This year we received
a record number of entries and the quality excelled which made
the judging extremely difficult. However, I am confident that the
chosen finalists are great ambassadors in representing the best of
Wirral’s businesses."
The event is also supported by Typhoo (Reception Sponsor),
Mills Media Group (AV Presentation Partner) and Let’s Go!
Design and Print (Print and Design Partner).
