and friends. The next day, it’ s Christmas day. It’ s the biggest party of the year 🎈. On that day, it’ s the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ. At midnight, Catholics go to the church for the Mass ⛪. The tradition is that people put a fir in the living room 🎄. Next to fir, there are Christmas crib. With some people like Marie, Joseph, baby Jesus, tree wises men. During the night, Santa Claus go through fireplace, and arrive in the house with gifts for all the family 🎁. During the Christmas lunch, we have foie gras or soup, turkey, and for the dessert Christmas cake log, with chocolate, ice cream, fruit.
New-Year’ s eve
On 6th January, we eat a delicious cake. It’ s a Twelfth- Night cake. It’ s a cake with an almond. If you get it, you are the king or the queen!
In Belgium, the whole country celebrates the New Year’ s Eve with family and friends. The afternoon of the 31st of December, everyone drinks, eat and dance and make a countdown to midnight. When midnight arrives, people kiss each other and wish a happy new year to their friends.
Party and lights For the New Year, it’ s a little bit different. The meal is less important than the party. People go down into the streets for enjoying the fireworks and the music. New Year is often celebrated with friends and not only with family. It’ s a great happiness to be with all the people we love for beginning the year. Going to Brussels that evening is just amazing, because the capital is illuminated and it’ s magic. Some tourists from all over the world come in Belgium for celebrating the Holidays.
