HEALTHY LIVING SPRING FORWARD Marion E. Wildey A lmost a quarter of the year is underway, and spring is a perfect time to evaluate your current path. Consider where and what you’ve done, and how it has set you up for future goals. Inspirational author, Bob Moawad said, “Most people don’t aim too high and miss, they aim too low and hit.” In other words, if you’ve not seen the progress in your fitness level, or home renovations, then actively formatting intentions that you consider living a fulfilled life is necessary to begin. Assessment, whether it’s formal, or simply a checklist of completion or incomplete accomplishments is a necessary valuation of where you’ve been, and the progress you’re making to move forward. On the other hand, it’s true that if you don’t put goals, aspirations, intentions and desires “out there,” then there’s nothing to be disappointed about, in the short-term, however after 5 or 10 years roll by, question what you have to look back upon. Spring, is a time of renewal and revival, so consider this a time to rejuvenate your life. “Spring forward“ into steps that reawaken your spirit, and make plans to hike the Appalachian Trail, fix the ruined drywall in the garage, or swap out the kitchen faucet for a more practical, goose-neck option. Each could’ve, would’ve or should’ve begins with a first step, followed by a second step and so on. Make dreams a reality and put a face to your intention of creating a bar for socializing by knocking out part of the kitchen wall. Research what is entailed for this do-it-yourself project, and carefully put it into action, in phases if need be. How have you fared in the year so far, in regards to plans or intentions coming to fruition? Whenever you tackle something new]or desire to change your routine, it is not only daunting, but seemingly impossible to accomplish. If you find, as you are approaching 25% of the year over, and you have yet to set into motion any of the things that you desired at the beginning of the year, then consider Spring’s air of renewal, and note 75% of the year ahead to fuel intentions that will inevitably find its way into the future. Put life to that which you desire. Just like ordering food at a restaurant, and specifically stating how you would like your food prepared, be vivid with what you desire to change in your life. If you’ve decided to get fit this year, state a clearer more vibrant manifestation that breathes life to the emptiness of “get fit.” Talk about a long-distance hike on the Appalachian Trail with friends, cut out and display 8  | WINTER GARDEN MAGAZINE | MARCH 2019
