Climbing Stairs You can take part in climbing up and down the stairs in the comfort of your own home . Perhaps you take the elevator up to your office or parking garage . Get off a few floors from your stop and walk the rest of the way . This is a great strength building and cardio exercise .
Swimming Living in Florida means it is almost always swimming season . Take advantage of an empty community pool and indulge in a full body workout composed mostly of cardio movements . Exercising in the pool is better for your body since the water decreases stress on the joints . Start by simply swimming laps and pacing yourself by starting off nice and slow .
Dance Believe it or not , dancing is great for the body ! All you really need is space , comfortable shoes and music that motivate you to move . There are over dozens of genres of dance and most of these tutorials or classes can be found on YouTube . You can even join in on a Zumba class at your local gym and engage with other dancing fools .

The main thing about engaging in heart healthy exercises is to do them ! As my old trainer used to say , “ Keep showing up .” Do it for yourself , do it for your heart , do it for the people who love you !
