Tloving the Year of the Unicorn . It seems like everywhere I turn there is a unicorn-inspired something . Rainbows , pearly spiral horns , and pastels lurk around every corner , and as consumers we aren ’ t even mad about it . Whether it ’ s the food we eat , the dye in our hair , or the makeup spackled on our faces , unicorns are here to stay for a while longer ( I mean , where do we go from here ? Centaurs ?). Also , is it ironic that a mythical creature known for being illusive is now in front of our faces 24-7 ?

Mainstream fashion and lifestyle consumerism has pounced on the trend . No longer is the beautiful beast featured only in My Little Pony and Lisa Frank merchandise , social media has made it a craze for all ages . You no longer need be a child to ride the unicorn wave !

Food Starbucks jumped on the magical bandwagon in April 2017 when it a limited-time caloric Frappe bomb that came in at 410 calories and 16 grams of fat for a 16oz . People are still talking about their Unicorn Frappuccino which changed colors as you ’ d drink its pink and blue creamy whatever-they-had-in-there and shifting flavors from fruity sweet to sour . Though it was criticized for having a ridiculous sugar count ( 59g , 16oz ), it sold out pretty quickly and was showcased all over social media . People couldn ’ t resist its enchanting , vibrant composition and crack-like sugar content . Who has time to count calories when Starbucks and unicorns collide ?! From drinks , spaghetti , “ Unicorn Toast ” ( which went viral ), cheese , bagels and loaves of bread , cupcakes , ice cream ,
