7 Support Groups Caregivers The struggles of caregiving are addressed, whether you are caring for an aging parent or a sick child, a spouse or other loved one. Meets 2nd Wednesday of each month, 7:30 pm. GETTING CONNECTED! Jan. 19, 25 & Feb. 2 9:30 or 11 am For those new to GBPC or interested in connecting in a new way! Week One—Who Are We? Learn about ministries of GBPC Week Two—Who Are You? Learn about your strengths with Living Your Strengths Week Three—How Do We Connect? Talk with leaders in ministries of interest & get connected! New Member Class Divorce Care This group is designed for those who want to come together with others seeking that healing for their lives. Meets Thursdays, 7 pm. Divorce Care 4 Kids A group for kids aged 5 & up. DC4K is a special group to help your children heal from the pain caused by a separation or divorce. Meets Tuesdays, 6 pm. Grief Support All adults are invited who have experienced a loss. The support group provides help as they continue on their individual grief journey. The objective is to turn mourning into joy. Meets Thursdays, 7 pm. Introduction to the congregation, Feb. 16th, all services. Senior adults meet the fourth Friday for lunch, fun and fellowship. Luncheons are free and include a special presentation on various topics. They also do special outing at various times during the month. 2014 Dates: January 24th February 28th March 28th April 25th May 23rd Look for sign up sheet in the narthex. Super Bowl Party February 2nd, Club 912. Time TBA. Winter Jam 2014! February 16th, Grades 7-12. Sign ups coming soon! Children & Youth Sun, Feb. 9, 5:00-8:00 pm Thurs, Feb. 13, 5:30-8:00 pm Dinner & childcare provided Classes include time with pastors, overview of Presbyterian church, expectations for membership, sharing of faith stories, opportunities to meet staff and key leaders. Lock In! Club 78 & Club 912 January 19-20, 7 pm—9 am. Communion and Worship Preparation Class for 2nd Grade and up January 29, February 2 & 9, 2014 Children in 2nd grade and older along with their parents are encouraged to attend this class. On the first Sunday in March we will have a special service to recognize the completion of this class. We will explore how and why we worship and the sacraments of Baptism and Communion. The Presbyterian Church encourages and values the involvement of children in worship and encourages all who are baptized to participate in communion. Children who have not yet been baptized are welcome to attend the workshop but should plan to discuss baptism with Ralph or Anita.
