Abide In Him
“Grow in the grace and knowledge
of our Lord an Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory, both now nad
to the day of eternity. Amen.”
To abide in Christ, means in part, to
remain connected to Him at all
times. Our spiritual journey remains
healthy as long as we pursue a growing relationship with God. How do
we abide in Him?
II Peter 3:18
How’s your walk with the Lord?
Where do you see God at work in
your life? These questions, among
others, stimulate us to practice a
self-assessment in our relationship
with the Lord Jesus Christ. The
session has established 2014 as the
“Year of Spiritual Growth.” Jesus
said in John’s gospel: “Abide in
me, and I in you. As the branch
cannot bear fruit of itself unless it
abides in the vine, so neither can
you unless you abide in me.” (John
15:4).
Study of God’s Word
Fasting with intent to foster intimacy with God
Prayer that is intentional
Sabbath rest from the rat race
Witness to God’s glory through
word and deed
Simplicity of life priorities
I will be seeking to apply all of these
six practices on a sabbatical commencing after Easter Sunday. It will
last approximately two months and
my travels will take me to Atlanta,
