Wing MEMBERSHIP IN THE EAST WING GLENVIEW SENIOR CENTER IS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: FITNESS CLASSES The East Wing offers a variety of fitness classes including, strength, balance, sit & fit, chair yoga and more. Only members may register for these programs. INVESTMENT CLUB Interested in learning more about stocks? Stocks are researched, purchased and sold. Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am. Max group size: 25 MEN’S ROUNDTABLE A drop-in discussion group for men. Meets every Friday from 10:30 am-12 pm. TALKING POINTS A drop-in, coed discussion group. Meets every Monday from 11 am-12:30 pm. GLENVIEW SENIOR CHORUS (THE STARLITE SINGERS) The Glenview Senior Chorus, led by John Kula, sings two- and three-part harmonies and performs for church groups, senior centers, etc. Practice is held on Thursday mornings from 10 am-12 pm. WEEKLY PLAY Bridge, Canasta, New Canasta, Poker, Cribbage, Duplicate Bridge, Mah Jongg, Pinochle, Pool, Scrabble, Mexican Train Dominoes, Rummikub and Drop-In Cards scheduled weekly. Weekly play is an opportunity for players of intermediate and advanced skill levels to play the game of their choice on a regular basis. (These are not instructional programs.) CRAFT ROOM If you knit, crochet, can stuff a teddy bear or sew on a button, join the senior crafters on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9 am-12 pm, to create seasonal and holiday items sold at sales throughout the year and to do charity work for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, the Linus Project and various hospitals. WEDNESDAY PLAY DROP-IN Every Wednesday at noon a room will be set up where members can drop in to form card games or Mah Jongg. MUSIC APPRECIATION Meets the fourth Monday of the month at 1 pm. CAMERA CLUB Calling all photographers – both film and digital! Join others who share your enthusiasm for this fun hobby, on the first Monday of each month at 1 pm. ART APPRECIATION Meets the third Monday of the month at 1 pm. OTHER MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES Bingo, Fellowship Luncheons, Men’s Pinochle, Men’s Book Club, Lunch Bunch, Woodcarving, Chess Club and Women’s Book Club. 34 glenviewparks.org ▪ The East Wing SPEAKER/DISCUSSION PROGRAMS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC These programs, held at Park Center, are open to all. COFFEE WITH DIANE Join Diane Behnke, social worker from the North Shore Senior Center, on the third Thursday of each month to learn about a new topic. Diane will bring in a speaker to discuss interesting and current topics.
