YOUNG LAWYER SHOWCASE

Membership in the Young Lawyers Section( YLS) is automatic with licensure in North Dakota for attorneys who are 35 years of age or younger or have practiced law for five years or less. YLS hosts social events across the state, providing networking opportunities for young lawyers. If you are interested in hosting an event in your area, please contact the YLS board at younglawyersnd @ gmail. com. YLS also hosts continuing legal education webinars, which are free for YLS members. All lawyers are encouraged to participate in these webinars to earn CLE credits.
In addition to her legal work, Finch has a passion for exploring the world. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she broadened her horizons by studying abroad in the Netherlands during her undergraduate degree and has now visited more than 25 different countries. When not traveling, for both work and leisure, Finch enjoys spending time with her dog( Charles Darwin Finch), friends, and family.
HALEY FINCH
Haley Finch is a litigation associate at Stinson in Bismarck. With a focus on business litigation, Finch works with clients on complex disputes across various industries, including intellectual property and oil and gas. She handles all types of motion practice in both state and federal court. She takes an active role in all phases of civil litigation, from drafting pleadings and conducting discovery to settling claims and trial. Finch honed her legal skill through a variety of experiences, including serving as a judicial law clerk for the North Dakota Supreme Court, as well as a summer associate for two multi-service regional law firms in North Dakota.
Before becoming an attorney, Finch graduated with her bachelor of arts from the University of Manitoba in 2020. She then moved to North Dakota to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer. She earned her juris doctorate from the University of North Dakota( UND) School of Law in 2023, graduating cum laude, Order of the Coif, and Order of the Barristers. During her time at UND Law, she was an editor of the North Dakota Law Review, obtained recognition in both internal and external moot court competitions, served on boards of many student organizations, and was recognized as the Outstanding Law Student Leader for her graduating class.

ISAAC LEES
Isaac Lees is a partner in Bromke & Lees PLLP, and was recently selected to serve as county attorney for Mahnomen County, Minnesota. He specializes in trial and appellate practice in the fields of criminal prosecution and government law. Previously, he was an assistant state’ s attorney for Burleigh County, where he was assigned to the Personal Crimes Division and handled the prosecution of violent crimes, sex offenses, and crimes against children.
Originally from Minnesota, Lees graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2021, where he was a member of the Federalist Society. Before attending law school, he graduated from the University of Minnesota Morris with a bachelor’ s of arts in history and political science.
Outside of work, Lees enjoys camping, birdwatching, shooting, and photography.
