Tük is a restaurant located in Shanghai which claims to offer an authentic experience of Turkish cuisine . But , is the restaurant worth visiting ?
Location
Tük can be easily accessed by metro or bus . The closest metro station is Middle Huaihai Road ( line 13 ), but South Shaanxi Road ( lines 1 , 10 , 12 ) and South Huangpu Road ( lines 1 , 14 ) are also located nearby . The closest bus stop is Huaihai Zhong Lu – Sinan Lu , which is a part of routes 42 , 146 ( outer loop ), 167 , 320 , 911 , 926 .
Food
The food is generally very delicious . The kebabs are tender and flavorful , and come in different varieties - chicken , beef , lamb , or fish . Tük also offers different cheese pides , salads , and shawarmas . The restaurant sells four desserts , all of which are worth trying : rice pudding , baklava , kazandibi , and Turkish ice-cream . Adults are also offered a variety of wines and different-flavored shishas . The only dish that I do not recommend at all is hummus , which is not fluffy enough and lacks tahini . It is noted in the menu if a dish is spicy , which is very useful for people who cannot tolerate spiciness . All food is halal , as per Turkish Muslim traditions , and there are some options for vegetarians . Though , there are no options for vegans .
Prices
Even though the prices were increased recently , they are still reasonable and generally not too high . You can expect one good meal for one person to cost 70 to 110 yuan . But , some of the appetizers are definitely overpriced .
Service
The waiters are attentive and friendly . They can speak Mandarin Chinese and English fluently , and react quickly if a problem occurs . The dishes are served fast on most days , but it may take a while if you come on a Friday evening . The temperature of the served dishes is always on point : meat , falafels , and bread are served hot , and cacık is served cold .
