Rhe stars might have taken some time to align for this loved-up pair , but when they did , it was romance all the way . “ We met about ten years ago ,” Romy says . “ Troy was a regular customer at my family ’ s restaurant and used to come in all the time and have his favourite meal . About eight years later , we finally connected again on Facebook !” Although Troy was working in Singapore at the time ( during the height of Covid restrictions ), oceans couldn ’ t part the now-smitten pair . “ We started talking every single day and every single night ,” recalls Romy . “ But Troy wasn ’ t able to come to Australia to visit and I couldn ’ t visit him in Singapore , so he made the decision to leave his job and come back home to Australia . We have been joined at the hip ever since .” When it came time to propose , Troy wasn ’ t doing anything by halves . He surprised his sweetheart with what Romy describes as a “ magical ” weekend in Tamborine Mountain , featuring salubrious winery lunches , a glow worm cave adventure , and a trip to a lavender farm ( a dream for photographer Romy ). “ Finally , after a couple ’ s massage , we got ready for dinner ,” she recalls . “ But instead of dinner , Troy had organised an amazing picnic with a beautiful view ... and asked me to marry him .” A photographer was on hand to capture the moment , and an emotional engagement shoot . Further props to Troy for keeping the surprises coming . “ He organised our families to meet us for dinner ,” says Romy . “ I was so surprised and happy to have everyone with us to celebrate .” The couple ’ s shared love of nature led them to a scenic ceremony and reception location : the stunning Tall Trees Estate in the Tallebudgera Valley .
