Under a tree ( that looked very much like an arbour ), Jye popped the question with a stunning diamond ring . “ After having our special moment , butterflies fluttering around and a rainbow in the sky , we headed back to the mothership with all ten family members waiting in anticipation ,” says Sam . The Champagne , hugs , kisses and tears quickly flowed . “ Jye knows how important family is to me and how special it would be for me to share this incredible memory with my family as well as his ,” says Sam . “ He gave me the most special engagement ever .” In a pre-pandemic world , the couple might have tied the knot on Hamilton Island — but their chosen locales were perfect and personal . “ I am Earth & Jye is Water , so we wanted to incorporate both ,” explains Sam . We were married under a big mother earth tree and walked down a sea of flowers . We had an ocean backdrop for our photos and our reception was held in a Mediterranean-style garden overlooking the water .” After years in the industry , the bride knew she was on a winner with the fresh yet timeless elegance of green and white to complement her Mediterranean / Modern Romance style . “ I have always wanted to make my own bridal bouquet ,” says Sam . “ And I had a team of incredible florists to help me bring my wedding vision to life ! Even her gown paid homage to Sam ’ s love of nature , with the bride noting the fabric was reminiscent of tree roots . Sam ’ s floristry mentor and friend , Debby Birach-Mayer , also had a few surprises . One particular touch ? Debby had Jye write love notes on orchid blooms . And he wasn ’ t the only one . “ I made a special buttonhole for Jye ,” says Sam . “ Inside , it had a love note that said Ti Amo .” ( I love you — a nod to Jye ’ s Italian heritage .)
After a joyous and personal ceremony , the party moved on to Jye ’ s parents ’ home for an alfresco cocktail reception .
