2024 Freshman Board at Downers Grove North
Jack Wesley of Glen Ellyn had a birthday and asked for donations for the shelter instead of gifts for him . He collected and donated food and supplies .
Club KCDG donated $ 45 to the animals at the shelter .
Camryn made and sold bracelets . She used the money to buy supplies for the shelter .
The Slone family purchased food and supplies using the proceeds from their garage sale . The kids picked out toys and bones for the dogs as well .
William donated food in honor of his birthday .
Dougherty ’ s Bag Company had a pop-up fundraiser and donated the proceeds of $ 450.00 to the shelter . They also donated cookies for the staff and volunteers .
Amina had a birthday and asked for gifts for the shelter instead of gifts for her . She donated $ 200 .
Anya and Natalie of Downers Grove sold pumpkins and donated the proceeds of $ 88 to the shelter .
Kookoochic had a pop-up sale of “ Be Kind ” hats and gave 25 % of the proceeds back to the shelter . They donated $ 110 . They also donated hats to all of the staff !
Evie and Aiden Smith of Downers Grove donated $ 50 in change to the shelter . Their parents matched the gift for a total donation of $ 100 .
Downers Grove North National Honor Society held a donation drive for a couple of charities . The donated food and supplies to the shelter .
The St . Petronille School PTA donated $ 100 on behalf of Mrs . Graff ’ s thirdgrade class . The school hosted a “ Giving Wars ” fundraiser , and they chose to raise money for the shelter .
The K-1 classroom at Reskin Elementary packed up dog treats to give to the dogs at the shelter .
Sue Walaszek of Downers Grove donated the following items in memory of her adopted dog Boomer and in honor of her current dog , Toby : Le Baby Bottles ( different sizes ), bleach , dishwashing liquid , scotch tape , Glad kitchen bags , 24 cans of Friskies cat food , 3.5 lb bag of Purina Healthy Kitten Formula , 8 lb bag of Purina One Smart Blend Lamb and Rice , disinfectant towel wipes , six cans of Merrick Wilderness Blends , four squeaky toys , four packs of 100 – 6 inch paper plates , 1 Nylabone variety pack , 2 Kong balls , and 2 Kong extremes .
Doggie Depot in Downers Grove did a holiday giving tree and asked their customers and employees to bring in donations for the shelter . They donated tons and tons of food , supplies , stamps , and money . The employees also went to Pet Supplies Plus and bought all of the dry cat food , dog food , and litter they had on the shelves and donated it to the shelter . The owner of Pet Supplies Plus in Westmont also donated $ 100 .
