Scott Patrick Brand is an associate at Brudvik Law Office P. C. in Fargo. Brand specializes in criminal defense and represents clients in North Dakota, Minnesota, and the Federal District of North Dakota. Prior to joining Brudvik Law Office in 2013, Scott was a judicial law clerk for the Northwest Judicial District of North Dakota, where he worked on a wide variety of cases for seven judges.
Brand grew up on a farm near West Fargo. In 2005, he took a break from his undergraduate studies, joined the Minnesota Army National Guard, and deployed to Iraq in 2006. In 2007, he returned from his deployment and obtained a degree in political science from the University of North Dakota( UND). After graduation, Brand spent a summer working as a senate intern for Senator Byron Dorgan in Washington, D. C.
He earned his juris doctor from the UND School of Law in 2012, graduating magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. While at UND, Brand participated in Moot Court, Law Review, and the Environmental Law Society. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Lillian Elsinga Outstanding Student Leader Award and the Memorial Union Leadership Scholarship.
In his spare time, Brand enjoys spending time with his wife, Courtney, and their two sons, Corbin and Benny. He also enjoys watching UND hockey and Minnesota Twins baseball, playing softball in the summer, and traveling.
Jesse Maier is an associate attorney with Severson, Wogsland & Liebl PC in Fargo. He currently practices in estate planning, business law, and real estate. Prior to joining Severson, Wogsland & Liebl, Maier served as law clerk for North Dakota’ s East Central Judicial District.
Maier grew up in Bismarck. After high school, he attended North Dakota State University, earning a bachelor of arts degree in business administration. Maier earned his juris doctor, cum laude, from the UND School of Law in 2015. While in law school, he earned an externship with Judge Hovland in the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. He was also involved in Moot Court, serving as a board member and earning three second place awards in national competitions concerning energy and constitutional law. In 2015, Maier was one of two students awarded the Jack Marcil Oral Advocacy Scholarship for his refined skills in argumentation and oral advocacy. He was also named to the Order of Barristers.
Maier currently resides in Fargo with his wife, Teresa, and their dog, Banjo. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, snowmobiling, snowboarding, kayaking, and being outdoors.
Allyson M. Hicks is an associate attorney with Solem Law Office in Beulah. She maintains a general practice, but her primary focus areas are family law, municipal law, and elder law, including guardianships and conservatorships.
Originally from Cambridge, Minn., she attended UND, where she graduated in 2009 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. She received her juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2013. While in law school, Hicks clerked with Solem Law Office and worked as an intellectual property research assistant for Professor Ruth Okediji.
Allyson is a member of the American Bar Association and SBAND. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, reading, and cooking.
