$ 10 Million Gift for Utah Homeless Resource Centers
Shelter the Homeless recently announced a transformational $ 10 million anchor gift from Gail Miller and The Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation to support the launch of the nonprofit’ s new Sustainability and Enhancement Fund. The gift was revealed at a December 11 event at the Gail Miller Resource Center in Salt Lake City, where family members, Foundation representatives, Shelter the Homeless staff and community leaders gathered to share how this contribution will make a lasting difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
This substantial investment will help strengthen Shelter the Homeless’ ability to maintain and enhance its programs, improve security and

expand support services— ensuring long‐term stability for individuals and families in crisis across Salt Lake County. The centers, which provide more than 90 % of the shelter beds in the region, will benefit from facility improvements, upgraded safety measures and expanded food assistance.
“ This is not a them problem,” said Gail Miller at the December 11 event.“ It is an us problem. Today’ s contribution is a recognition of this shared responsibility.”
This gift not only reinforces the Miller Family Foundation’ s ongoing commitment to addressing homelessness, but also underscores the power of partnerships between philanthropy, nonprofits and public leaders to create meaningful, lasting impact in Utah communities.

Transforming Lives Together: Celebrating new Wellness Center
The Other Side Village held the ribbon-cutting and grand opening of its on-site community gathering center and health care clinic, named the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Wellness Center. The new space is dedicated to healing, connection and dignity for village residents and neighbors.
The new facility brings together several key community resources, creating a centralized space on The Other Side Village campus where individuals can access physical, mental and social health support. These services reflect the village’ s whole-person approach and recognize that lasting stability and healing require care for the entire individual, not just one aspect of their wellbeing.
The new facility aligns with the Miller Family Foundation’ s mission to partner with organizations who are creating models of supportive community that transform lives and help neighborhoods thrive.
