In 2025, the Larry H. & Gail Miller Foundation provided funding through GO Grants( small, entry-level grants up to $ 10,000) and Community Support Grants( advanced grants up to $ 50,000) to nonprofits headquartered in 22 of Utah’ s 29 counties. These grants are designed to support nonprofits in early stages and rural nonprofits.

Closing the Care Gap
One in five Utahns experienced a mental health condition in the past year; organizations like Seager Memorial Clinic in Ogden, provide free medical, dental, vision and mental health care to underserved individuals and families in Northern Utah. A grant from the Miller Family Foundation enabled Seager Memorial Clinic to offer mental health resources and counseling at no cost. Serving a primarily young and uninsured population, this support helps address a critical gap in access to care.
Recess for Success
Bringing Care Closer
Increasing numbers of children face the dangers of social isolation and missing out on the benefits of play, a proven essential for healthy kids. Playworks Utah provides recess programming in Utah elementary schools so kids can experience the power of play. Support from a 2025 Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation GO Grant helped expand Playworks’ program to reach 30,000 students in 50 schools across the state.
Located in Moab, the Moab Free Health Clinic helps uninsured and underinsured residents gain access to essential health care and resources in a community where the poverty rate is approximately 15 percent, compared to Utah’ s statewide rate of 9 percent. In 2025, support from the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation expanded the clinic’ s ability to provide free primary and dental care to individuals across southeastern Utah, with a particular focus on patients managing chronic health conditions and in need of consistent, preventative care.
Racing Anxiety
A growing number of men are experiencing a“ friendship recession.” According to a 2025 Gallup study, 25 percent of young men reporting daily feelings of loneliness, a trend linked to higher rates of depression, increased risk of suicide, and poorer physical and mental health outcomes. Racing Anxiety, a Roosevelt-based organization, addresses this challenge by creating opportunities for genuine human connection through hands-on car work. With support from the Miller Family Foundation, Racing Anxiety uses car repair, restoration, racing and mental health education to help individuals find a pathway to mental well-being.

12 continues to support nonprofit organizations serving Salt Lake City’ s westside, helping connect residents with resources and opportunities that strengthen vibrant, thriving communities.
The report also highlights the ongoing involvement of the next generation of Miller family members. Through initiatives like the Miller Legacy Project, family members are engaging in thoughtful, hands-on philanthropy, uniting in projects such as the Fullmer Legacy Project and also expanding their efforts to board service and leadership opportunities.
Much like Sipapu Bridge, which stands as a natural testament to what can happen through layers of effort over time, the Miller Family Foundation continues to create connections that support individuals and families now and those who follow.
The One Refugee program helps students from refugee backgrounds navigate the U. S. higher education system by providing academic coaching, financial support and professional development opportunities.
