The Utah Jazz’s Summer League set an
attendance record with a three-day total of
33,884 fans for a round-robin tournament
between the Jazz, San Antonio Spurs, Memphis
Grizzlies, and Atlanta Hawks at Vivint Smart
Home Arena in early July.
The Jazz, Spurs, and Grizzlies each finished
with 2–1 records in the summer showcase while
Atlanta was 0–3. Summer League features rookies
selected in the 2018 NBA Draft, sophomores,
select free agents, and athletes competing to make
NBA and G League regular season rosters.
Two players from each team were recognized
as Utah Jazz Summer League “Standouts,” with
Tyler Dorsey and John Collins of Atlanta; Georges

The daily doubleheaders featured a “Fan
Fest” on the arena plaza, basketball clinics for
underserved youth on local community courts
during the week, and the first Utah Jazz 3-on-3
tournament, which attracted more than 200 teams
in recreational and competitive divisions for all
ages outside at Park Place.
After Salt Lake City, the Jazz played five games
in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, which
featured all 30 teams in a 12-day event. ◆
