FIRST ANNUAL LHM HR CONFERENCE
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGERS GATHER TO EDUCATE, SHARE AND LEARN
Gloria Chamberland, director
of benefits for the LHM
Management Corporation.
On August 25-27, 2014, the Larry H. Miller Group of
Companies hosted its first-ever HR Conference. The
conference gathered HR managers and staff from
each of the LHM business entities to the corporate
offices in Sandy, Utah. The intent of the conference
is to ensure HR representatives are up to speed with
the ever changing employment laws and how to stay
in compliance with state and federal regulations. The
conference also provides an opportunity for the HR
representatives
from different
LHM locations to
get to know one
another.
The conference
covered such
topics as
LHM benefits,
employment law updates, how to conduct
workplace investigations, compliance with
Fair Labor Standards Act, the correlation
with short-term disability/FMLA/Worker’s
Compensation, unemployment and employee
onboarding. More than 70 human resource
professionals from the Group attended the
conference which, going forward, will be held
annually. WS
LHM legal
counsel, Sarah
Starkey, reviews
employment and
labor laws with
the group of HR
professionals.

During the seven days of the Tour of Utah, the 122 pro riders used more than 3,500 water bottles, most
of which were tossed to the side of the road to be scooped up by souvenir-hunting spectators.
